Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. He combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B for a distinctive mixture. Avery Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and in festivals throughout Europe. She has also performed at performing at Democratic National Convention. Sunshine's name is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta however, her roots lie located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she was the first to begin pursuing the musical profession by performing and singing in a church. She studied at Spellman College and began to master the R&B style of Atlanta. She was named the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's musical Meet the Browns in 2005. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) approached her for an opportunity to be the choral conductor of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine received national attention for four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to sing as part of Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
