Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. she is the current president and controlling owner of Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Buss is a California native, Buss has been raised by an extremely wealthy family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon and later manager of Lakers, among other businesses. Her feelings of abandonment were heightened after her parents split in the year 1972. At the age of 19, she took over her role as General Manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as the General Manager. The team was later renamed the Los Angeles Blades, a professional team of roller hockey. Prior to becoming vice-president of the Lakers, she served as president of Great Western Forum. Her father died in 2013, and his control over ownership of the Lakers was passed on to Buss and her five siblings through a family trust that gave each sibling equal voting rights. She assumed the office as the President for the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss owns a co-owned business Women of Wrestling an pro-wrestling promotional business based out of Los Angeles.
